What do we do with your information?

Additionally, as you browse the store, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the store, and information about how you interact with the shop. In order to process transactions and provide you with updates on your order, information including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (i.e. credit card numbers, paypal address, email address) and phone number is obtained when you make a purchase through our store. We refer to this information as “Order Information”.

 

What do we do with the information we gather?

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).  Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

• Communicate with you;
• Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
• When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our store (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the store, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

We do not pass your information on to anyone, and without your consent, you will not receive any further marketing emails from us. We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

Consent

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your payment details, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return an order, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

For our newsletter, all subscribers are sent an email to confirm their consent before any newsletters are sent. When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address, and your first name where necessary, in order to send you updates on the latest products, sales and other updates, we will not use this information for any other purpose.

How do I withdraw my consent?

If after you opt-in, you may change your mind and you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us at hello@ohlightning.co.uk.

Your rights

Shopify

We host our online shop on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products to customers. All your data is stored through Shopify's data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. All data is stored behind a firewall on a secure server.

Third Party Services

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

Certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction than either you or us. If you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service. 

Shopify shares customer data with Facebook.

When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our store. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

We hold all your information on our system, you can contact us at any time to ask us to remove this information, which we will otherwise retain for our records for the next 4 years.
